New description of a widespread fungus species in the context of ABOL

Dear ABOL community

One advantage of DNA barcoding is the strong international networking of the initiative.

As part of the HRSM project, the team of Irmgard Krisai-Greilhuber at the University of Vienna has created DNA barcodes of a fungus that was on the way of being described. Thus, Entoloma silvae-frondosae, already in its original description is recorded from such a wide range of countries as Austria, Estonia, Hungary, Norway, the Russian Caucasus and Iran. The description of the fungus species can be found at https://doi.org/10.3767/persoonia.2018.41.12.

With kind regards

Your ABOL team
