We have extended the early bird registration for this year’s ABOL conference until October 18th !
Conference contributions in the form of 15 minute talks or lightning talks (3 minutes) can be submitted until October 31st.

Dear ABOL community and interested people!

As already announced, this year’s ABOL conference will take place in Innsbruck on December 6, 2019 following the DACH-UGM “DNA Methods in Environmental Management”, which will cover everything from the application to the scientific basis of DNA barcoding. Both meetings can be attended together – at a reduced conference fee, but also separately.

Registration is already possible (-> registration).

For our ABOL meeting we look forward to interesting contributions in the form of talks (15 min. + 5 min. discussion) or lightning talks (3 min., max. 3 slides, no posters possible!). The abstracts are submitted via the registration page.
The conference language of the ABOL meeting is English, the first one and a half days of the UGM will be held in German, followed by an afternoon in English.

An early registration pays off! Early Bird registration and submission of abstracts until October 1, 2019, registration deadline October 31, 2019.

Dear ABOL community,

our this year´s ABOL meeting will take place on Friday 6th of December in Innsbruck.

In advance, a DACH User Group Meeting on “DNA Methods in Environmental Management” will be held on 4th  and 5th of December together with Germany and Switzerland.

There will be a common as well as separate registration possible. We look forward to your participation.

Dear ABOL community,

First of all a thank you to all participants of our ABOL meeting. This year we decided for the first time for accompanying workshops – thank you for the stimulating discussions, we hope to be able to offer such events again soon. A special thanks to all presenters for the thrilling contributions. This allowed us to get a good overview of what is already running and what is possible with DNA barcoding.

Thanks to all for the many, positive feedback. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope for fruitful cooperation next year.

This year’s ABOL meeting will take place on 6th and 7th December 2018 at the Natural History Museum Vienna.

The REGISTRATION PERIOD has been extended until 31st October 2018 !

Dear ABOL community and interested people!

the registration for our annual ABOL meeting, which takes place on December, 6th and 7th at the Natural History Museum Vienna, is now open. Please send an e-mail to abol@nhm-wien.ac.at. This year talks and poster can be submitted. Please send your abstract to abol@nhm-wien.ac.at.

On Thursday, 6th, a workshop on the subject “eDNA and metabarcoding” will be held, which addresses stakeholder and users. Additionally a workshop for collectors and citizen scientists will be provided.

On Friday, 7th, talks and poster session take place (we ask for abstract submissions, see above).

The conference fee of 20 EUR can be paid on site. Sudents free!

this year´s ABOL meeting will take place on 06-07 of December 2018 at the Natural History Museum Vienna. On Thursday 06 of December we want to organize a workshop on “eDNA and metabarcoding”, which is aimed at stakeholders. On Friday, scientific talks address the professional audience and the interested public.

Dear ABOL community & all interested people,

we would like to remind you that this years´ABOL meeting takes place on 20th and 21st of October in the Natural History Museum Vienna. We will look back at the past 3 years of the initial phase and especially look forward to the future of the ABOL-Initiative.

Two public talks will be held on the first day, followed the second day by more specific talks and reports as well as a panel discussion on DNA-barcoding. A detailed programm will be provided soon.

The contribution fee of € 15,- can be paid on site (free for students).

Dear ABOL community,

this year again our ABOL meeting took place at the Schlossmuseum Linz – we would like to thank the people from the Upper Austrian State Museums for hosting! We are very happy, that so many of you joined the meeting. A special thank to all the speakers for the interesting talks concerning this year’s main topic “Applied aspects of DNA barcoding”. The talks provided a comprehensive overview of the power of DNA barcoding and stimulated lively discussions.
We hope, that the meeting was interesting and successful for all participants and provided sufficient space for conversations and networking.
